London-hailing, Jamaica-born singer, songwriter and producer Adreyn Cash is well-versed in the art of emotive rhetoric. Following the release of his widely-acclaimed EP ‘Illusions’ as well as acknowledgment in the 2022 class of MOBO Unsung, the multi-talented creative now returns with a new take on pop and R&B productions and his signature sophisticated vocal cadence. An expansion of the artist’s ever-growing catalogue, his latest offering ‘Like I Was Here’’ deals with matters of the heart and healing as Cash continues to empower himself as an artist and individual.
As his natural propensity for musings of the mind grows, ‘Like I Was Here.’ manifests as an all-encompassing, emotive journey as Adreyn eloquently breezes through intimate vignettes of what it means to feel invisible. Taking its place in the next chapter on from ‘Illusions’, which garnered widespread acclaim from the likes of BBC Radio 1Xtra, Reprezent Radio, and Link Up TV, as well as Flaunt Magazine and Elicit Magazine, Cash’s latest offering lends itself to an experience that envelopes its listener in a poetic and ambient moment.
When speaking about the meaning behind the new track, Adreyn shared:
“For me, It's a cry to my friends and my family to be active in their love, more importantly It's a cry to an industry that I feel overlooked in. I believe that everyone has had a moment where they feel unappreciated and unseen and this song gives a voice to those emotions.”
As his signature topline borrows the sinuous rhythms of r&b, fans are carried by a deep dive into Cash’s unfeigned experiences along with an unmatched rawness in his delivery. Adreyn’s lyricism naturally veers towards a stream of consciousness, resembling conversations within himself as he gradually creates a jigsaw of challenging musings. Supported by gentle, unhurried drum patterns; all in great anticipation of an impactful and euphonious chorus, the unique talent’s unapologetic and authentic approach adds the finishing touches as he injects deep contemplation and experience into all of his work.
